SUNDAY WORSHIP 25 APRIL 2021

Call to Worship

Dear Friends, as we gather to worship God, let us remember that: In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (Hebrews 1:1-3)

Amen

Prayer

Oh Lord, we do thank you that in these times you have not left us as orphans, you have not left us without witness, you have sustained and refreshed us by your life giving words and your living waters, even your Holy Spirit. Help us also to yield ourselves to you as we prepare to participate in Holy Communion next Sunday. And now open our hearts and ears to receive you message to us today, that we may be encouraged in you, for your glory. Amen

SUNDAY WORSHIP 18 APRIL 2021

Call to Worship

Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us. (1Peter 2:11&12)

Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.

SUNDAY WORSHIP 21 MARCH 2021

Call to Worship

Let us come together to worship the One "who sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in. He brings princes to naught and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing. “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. (Isaiah 40:22,24-25)

Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, who is there like you, who created us in your likeness, male and female, to declare your wonderful works, in all the earth. You knit us together in our mothers' wombs. SUNDAY WORSHIP 14 MARCH 2021

Call to Worship

As we approach the Lord in worship, consider his words to us: For this is what the high and exalted One says— he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. (Isaiah 57:15)

Prayer

Our Father in Heaven, as we draw near to you, thank you that you are willing to receive us through our Lord Jesus, to forgive our sins and heal our diseases, to redeem our life from the pit. Thank you for your bounteous blessings upon us over the years, not least the good things you have done in our lives through our mothers, whom we honour in your name today. Amen.

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, we do thank you today that you are there, and you were there before we were made. And you chose us to be saved through Christ before the world was made. We admit that the world around us sometimes causes us to wonder whether it is true that our chief end, goal, aim in life is to glorify you and enjoy you forever. SUNDAY WORSHIP 14  FEBRUARY 2021

Call to Worship

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, our minds still boggle that you had mercy on us all after all our disobedience. You must truly love us very deeply to do something like that for us! And we found ourselves in outer darkness, but even though we had no inclination to seek you, you drew us near with chords of love. Let all our pride and conceit wither away, for the best we did as humans was never enough to win your favour. What else could we do now but bow before  you in worship, because you are worthy!

Amen.

SUNDAY WORSHIP 7  FEBRUARY 2021

Call to Worship

Call on the Lord today, because: The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.  He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them (Psalm 145:18-18).

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, my your ears be open to our cry today, may our eyes see more clearly the Christ, our Righteousness, so that by faith in him we may take hold of that for which you have called us heavenward. Humble us before you, let us understand again the folly of trying to establish our own righteousness, for it will all be tainted with sin and will fall short of your glory. But we thank you that anybody, and everybody, who calls on your name will be saved, and will remain so until the end of days! Amen.

Call to Worship

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship (Romans 12:1)

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, when we consider your deep love for us, that your gave your only Son Jesus as an atoning sacrifice for our sins, which took away your wrath on us, we are amazed! We know that even the best things we can do for you, or each other, are still tainted with pride and selfishness. We do thank you that as we keep turning away from our old life of doing things to exalt ourselves, even good and right things, that your grace is sufficient for us, that in you there is forgiveness. And thank you that you live in us now by your Spirit, to live a new life in which more and more we can serve you in holiness and righteousness and without fear, all our days. We ask that now as we worship, you will make such a life even more a reality for us, for the glory of your holy name. Amen.

May the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun, even the Son of God, has come to us from heaven, shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the path of peace. Amen

SUNDAY WORSHIP 29 NOVEMBER 2020

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT

Call to Worship

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned. (Isaiah 9:2)

Prayer

Our dear Father in heaven,

Where would we be if you did not send your Son Jesus into our world! Even a world now beset with Covid and a host of other calamities. But thank you that through your Son Jesus, who came to die in our place, we may have hope of your coming again, so that even while we journey through these shadowlands, we will not grow weary and lose heart. For you are with us, and your words to us are a lamp to our path and a light to our feet!

Amen

SERMON TEXT

SUNDAY WORSHIP

23 AUGUST 2020

We greet you all in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Let's pray: (Psalm 130)

Out of the depths I cry to you, LordLord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. So today we put all our hope in you Lordfor with you Lord is unfailing love and with you is full redemption. You yourself will redeem us from all our sins, through your body and blood given for us!

Amen

Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you that we may draw near to you and receive mercy, and grace to help us in our time of need, even through the merits of your Son Jesus who died and rose again for us, and who sent your blessed Holy Spirit into our hearts to comfort us with reminders of your faithfulness and kindness towards us today!

We greet you all in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Let's pray: (from Psalm 95:6-7)

Lord we come to you today, and bow down in worship, we kneel before you O Lord, our Maker; for you are our God and we are the people of your pasture, the flock under your care. Today, if only we would hear your voice: help us to do that even now!

Blessing:(from Psalm 97:9,11&12)

And now may the Lord, the Most High over all the earth; be exalted far above all gods. May those who love the Lord hate evil, for he guards the lives of his faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked. May light shine on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. May you rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous, and praise his holy name.

And now may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God our Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all, both now and forevermore.

Amen.

SUNDAY WORSHIP 26 JULY 2020

We greet you all in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Let's pray: (from 1 John 1:5-9)

Our Father in Heaven, we declare today that you are light; in you there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with you and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as you are in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, your Son, purifies us from all sin. Thank you so much, that as we confess our sins to you today, your are faithful and just to remember the blood of Jesus your Son shed for us, and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness!

Amen
